Dr. Barbulescu grew up in Rochester, MN. She earned her bachelors of science in cell and molecular biology from Winona State University and medical degree from the University of Central Florida College of Medicine in Orlando, FL. She completed her internship in Internal Medicine and residency in Dermatology and Cutaneous Surgery at the University of Colorado.
In addition to her clinical training at the University of Colorado, Dr. Barbulescu completed a 2 year research fellowship in immunodermatology pertaining to hair loss. She has been published in dermatology journals and presented at various dermatology meetings around the United States and internationally.
Dr. Barbulescu is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology, American Medical Association, American Hair Research Society, Skin of Color Society, and the Women’s Dermatology Society. She specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of skin conditions in adults and children, with special interest in treatment of patients with alopecia, skin of color, as well as cosmetic and surgical dermatology.
